FuJETS! There’s a lot of info in this update. If you don’t want to read it all, at least read the following three points about money being collected at the Mid-Year Conference:
- Asahi Beer Garden Night Out: Nov. 26 – 4,000 yen
Only John will be collecting this money at the Mid-Year Conference. Meet him during the morning registration or AJET meeting.
- Sapporo Yuki Matsuri: Take nenkyu Feb. 8, 9, 10 – 10,000 yen (non-refundable deposit)
Give your money to Gemma during the AJET meeting at the Mid-Year Conference.
- Sumo: Jan. 23 – 4,900 yen
Give your money to Matt during the AJET meeting at the Mid-Year Conference.

ASAHI BEER GARDEN NIGHT OUT
The final list is on the list serv and the forums. if your name is on the list, you are expected to pay! If you can no longer join us, please find a replacement and let Matt/Gemma know. Tell your friends to sign up if they aren’t on there yet!
We wrap up our first day at the conference with the AJET meeting. Matt and I will keep it to 20 minutes, so we should be done by 4ish. You’ll have time to chill, then we can head out for some FuJET fun!
WHAT’S THE DEAL: Two hours (6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) of nomihoudai and yakiniku. All-you-can eat and drink! Genghis Khan, beverages of choice (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Vegetarians will have a designated table.
PRICE: 4,000 yen. (FuJET will be contributing some yennies to offset the costs). See John Au-Yeung on the first day of the conference. Please pay him in exact bills! He will be available to take payments at the morning registration and the afternoon AJET meeting.
TRANSPORTATION: We will be taking chartered buses. Please meet at the SUNROUTE PLAZA at 5:40 p.m. Be on time! Some JETs will be staying at another hotel, so please make your way to the SUNROUTE for the bus pick-up. We will get back to the hotel around 9:30 p.m.
SAPPORO YUKI MATSURI
WHAT’S THE DEAL: We will be heading to the Yuki Matsuri in Sapporo from Feb. 7 to Feb. 11, 2010. If you’ve signed up for this trip, please give your non-refundable deposit to Gemma during Mid-Year.
PRICE: 10,000 yen non-refundable desposit. If you don’t bring it to Mid-Year… no trip for you! This will go towards the overall cost of your trip. The travel agent doesn’t have current numbers for the total cost yet, vut last year’s trip was almost 5-man, 5.5-man. (If you want the privacy of a double room, it’s a little more expensive). This money will be due in January 2010.
NENKYU: Make sure you can take your three days of nenkyu (Feb. 8, 9, 10) before committing to the trip!
WHAT’S THE DEAL: Sign up to see sumo in Tokyo on Saturday, January 23, 2010.
PRICE: We are going with the second cheapest tickets guys (Area B), so the price is 4,900 yen. This is the cost of the tickets only. Transportation and accommodations in Tokyo are up to you.
